According to NY Daily News Gatecrasher comedian/actress Mo’Nique’s chances at winning an Oscar may be going up in smoke because of her crazy demands and diva attitude. The initial buzz around Precious was that Mo’nique did an outstanding job and could be a front runner for a golden statue. An unidentified snitch told the paper that executives at Lionsgate have reached out to the film’s executive producer Oprah Winfrey encouraging her to deflate Mo’s ego.

Zzzzzzzzz. Oh, I’m sorry. Where was I? Yeah, this one doesn’t really sound like much right now. But maybe the new screenwriter Will Fetters can add some 21st century zip to the script.
As it stands right now, would you check out the flick just ‘cuz Bey was in it?

With this year’s TIFF officially over, lots of films left an impression on folks, but only one took home the festival’s top prize- Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.
The Oprah Winfrey-produced film is a gritty tale of the abuse and subsequent redemption of a Harlem teenage girl (Gabby Sidibe). Mo’Nique, Mariah Carey and Paula Patton co-star.
Precious won the People’s Choice award, which is voted on by filmgoers. Last year’s winner, Slumdog Millionaire, also won the Best Picture Oscar.

After seeing the trailer for the February 2010 release, our initial suspicions have been confirmed. But with those names, it might make a few dollars.
Ne-Yo’s acted before. Remember Drumline? Oh, and what about that time he tried to play a tough guy with one of his rival singers? (We kid, we kid.) The impressive cast he’ll be joining includes Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez and Bridget Moynahan.
The Bow Wow- and Ice Cube-starred comedy Lottery Ticket will begin shooting in Atlanta in October.
Variety says music video director Erik White will be making his big-screen debut with the Alcon Entertainment/Rogue Pictures project.
Lottery Ticket’s story centers around a young man (Bow Wow) living in the projects who has to survive an action-packed weekend after his hatin’ neighbors find out he’s holding a winning ticket worth $350 million.
This, of course, makes the second film Cube’s been involved with where a co-star’s won major dough from the lottery. The was the case for Mike Epps in the ‘02 comedy All About the Benjamins.
